1255 41st Ave, Capitola, CA 95010, United States
Laid-back hotel offering colorful suites, plus an outdoor pool, a bar & free breakfast.
I have been staying here for a long-term stay as I recover from an injury and have had nothing but a 5-star experience here. From the front desk, to the breakfast cooks, to the housekeeping, and to the manager Derek, everyone has exceeded all expectations from an establishment, and I have nothing but great things to say. The rooms are clean and spacious, and free, easy, and safe parking is provided.
Super clean, great location, nice hotel! Perfect location in-between Santa Cruz and Capitola. A few minutes to the beach, but away from the crowds. Quiet, large rooms, comfortable beds, and pillows. Great service! ❤️
A family crisis forced me to cancel my one night reservation, and the manager, Derek reversed the charges for me, despite the corporate 48-hour cancellation policy!| |He's such a nice guy, and obviously super invested in his hotel - so much so, that I would have no problem recommending it or staying there in my travels if the need ever arose again!
Martha, the breakfast server, was an absolute delight. From the moment she arrived, she showed great consideration for our family, who doesn’t speak English. She kindly asked if we needed anything and even helped my mother use the waffle maker. Martha’s attention to detail was remarkable. She kept the entire restaurant spotlessly clean and even went as far as to neatly sort the peanut butter packets in a unidirectional manner, creating an organized and pristine appearance. Additionally, each fork was individually covered in plastic to maintain cleanliness. Every table was meticulously cleaned, leaving our dining experience truly enjoyable. They had so many topping options for the oatmeal, and the scrambled eggs actually tastes like eggs and were delicious, unlike other hotel breakfasts. However, the front desk employees were questionable though. When I checked in at night, the guy in long hair had a cold attitude. Speaks too fast and doesn't have a smile. When checking out, I told the woman "121, 123" for the room numbers and she just blurted "What? 😦" with the tone of "Wtf did you just say?". Like first of all, think. And also that's not how you talk to your customers lol. Also one of the Tesla chargers weren't working. But yeah Martha was great so she made it a 5-star experience for us. I hope the organization continues to value her consideratness and hospitality. She's a rare gem.
Positive: The decor Negative: The man on duty when we arrived couldn?t have been more unwelcoming. He seemed annoyed with my basic questions about breakfast and passwords and kept answering with, ?it?s on the hospitality card?. His response left me with a really bad feeling.
Everything was clean and looked nice. The hotel is close to the beach. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was pretty standard continental style. The room was clean and cozy. The reason for 3 stars is purely based on comfort. The seats in the room were very hard. The pullout mattress was so pokey, most I know would have thrown away. The main king bed incredibly hard and felt lot concrete with things sticking out into your tender body. My family was unable to sleep most of the night. And the sleep we did get was regretted because of the pain it created. Dispite the rest of the appeal of the hotel, I would not stay here again. I have not had this experience in other Best Western hotels.
This was a business trip so my company paid for my stay. If I had been the one paying for it I would rated lower. 1. They did not have bottle openers. 2. The laundry room closes at 9 PM and opens at AM. On top of that, it’s only one machine of each. 3. I have elite benefits with Marriott Bonvoy and on checkin I was not offered a late checkout or a welcome gift. Although it’s a business trip, to them it’s no different if it’s me paying or company card paying. 4. Room key was never available in my app. This is the only location where it’s never become available. 5. On checkin, they asked if I wanted housekeeping every other day. I told them yes. I did not get housekeeping services 4 days into my stay until I messaged them. It was a nice hotel though and the location was great.
We’ve stayed here multiple times, we enjoy the location, it’s nice and quiet. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is free. The rooms are spacious although it’s nothing fancy.
Wonderful hotel, excellent staff - everyone very friendly and helpful. Nearby activities: Tons - its Santa Cruz Walkability: A lot of places to walk. Its right on 41st ave
Lovely hotel. Love the service and breakfast area. Beautifully furnished lobby, very cozy family hotel rooms. Come here if you want to have a great vacation with as a family. Also I luv the hot tub and swimming pool. Rooms: The rooms are nicely sized (especially the family sized suites) and have good amenities and are very clean. Nearby activities: Only a short drive to the beach and many restaurants nearby! Walkability: The whole building upstairs is carpeted which is nice, and overall the hotel isnt massive so everything inside the residence is accessible with minimal time spent on foot. Food and drinks: Breakfast bar is always a delight and the amenities served are usually always fresh and restocked frequently. Noteworthy details: The gated underground parking garage is especially nice for vehicle as well as luggage security and is very conveniently accessible through the elevators. The pool is also heated, which is a plus in my book!
Excellent hotel, excellent service, very good rooms, very good breakfast. The staff is very friendly I recommend it 100%
Clean and attractive rooms, comfortable beds although thin blankets.
Very ada accessible Very nice staff Attractive room, good price Rooms : 5/5
The women at the front desk are in need of a serious attitude adjustment. My 2 coworkers had the same experience in separate transactions. Rude and provided inaccurate information. I will never return. Aside from that, its a great hotel with nice amenities. The rooms are great.
Sorely in need of better elevator system. Otherwise, OK.
Incredibly disappointed with the customer service here, or lack thereof spoke to front desk about cancelling a reservation they said no refund, there s nothing i can do on my end. but to talk to customer service and they could probably work with me on it. Great transfer me. I get transferred to someone saying, I dont know why they transferred you here, there s nothing i can do for you. You can submit a claim for a price match for this reservation instead of a refund. They are twice more expensive than other hotels that are arguably better. I get transferred again to get a price match and they tell me that i would waste my time asking for the price match because its 23 hours before check-in instead of 24 never booking here again. I have never spoke with a company so unwilling to work with the guest, especially for a hotel. All three women sounded miserable, as if i was asking them to do something more than answer a phone call oh wait . It s embarrassing for them.
Room was nice but check in and check out was terrible- front desk staff are easily confused. Then while at a wedding during the day I had 300 dollars stolen from my room. There is no safe in the room so if you stay there strap all valuable to you all the time (leave nothing in the room)
We had a sister getaway trip and stayed here at Fairfield by Marriott in Capitola, our stay was so amazing!! Beautiful clean rooms, beautiful hotel and best was Derrick, he is such a gentleman and accommodating!! Everything is close by, food, shopping, a memorable stay here! Highly recommended, by the Chapa Sisters Texas and Cali
Great Hotel. Definitely plan on staying at this hotel again. The rooms are nice and spacious and close to everything. They have a very nice breakfast from 630 to 10AM every morning. Rooms
We are in our 70s and Bonvoy members. I developed the flu with deep caughing and instead of coming to the Inn and spreading it, I canceled our reservation. This was memorial day weekend and I was told we would lose our deposit. No doubt there was no occupancy posted and our room would be taken from someone on a waiting list.
People are very nice. Great location. Quiet. I stayed 2 months and staff has been consistently helpful and accommodating. Nearby activities: Short drive to a beach.
We are Bonvoy members and Timber Lodge timeshare owners because we appreciate superior service, attractive lodging and overall value. We were quite pleased with the architecture and furnishings of this Capitola facility. And as used to superior service as we are at Marriott properties, we were absolutely delighted with the breakfast room! It was spotless and well managed. Staff persons Martha and Teresa were friendly, hard working and more efficient than anyone weve encountered in quite a while! Rooms: Well appointed and very quiet. Disappointed with Lack of Basic Amenities and Poor Customer Service I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. One of the basic expectations I have when staying at a hotel is the availability of simple amenities like microwaveable cups or glasses to heat water for tea. However, to my surprise, the room did not have any such provisions. Although they provided a microwave, there were zero microwaveable cups. It is very basic to hope to make a cup of tea in an expensive hotel room. Unfortunately, at this hotel you will need to bring your own dishes if you intend to microwave ANYTHING! When I requested a ceramic cup or a glass to make tea from the hotel staff, I was astonished to find out that they did not have even a single cup available for guests to use and they expect the guest to have to come down to the lobby to use their ( lukewarm water) offered at the lobby if wanting to make tea! Additionally the water provided in the lobby was lukewarm, making it unsuitable for making tea. When I raised these extremely basic concerns with the manager, instead of providing a solution or showing willingness to assist, the manager chose to argue with me, displaying a lack of professionalism and customer service. He basically told me to try having better luck trying to make tea at another hotel! Seriously??? It is disappointing that a hotel of this price range fails to provide such basic necessities for its guests and that the management is not proactive in addressing customer concerns. As a guest, I expect to feel accommodated and valued, but my experience at this hotel left much to be desired. I hope the management of this hotel takes this feedback seriously and works towards improving the overall experience for their guests by providing essential amenities and fostering a more customer-centric approach before customers have to tell their experiences online by leaving bad reviews to warn new potential guests that may just want to drink a tea before bed!
Nice place, safe parking, overall great stay. Rooms were clean, beds were nice. Much better then staying in Santa Cruz in my opinion. Sees Candy around corner nice. Fyi dont eat up the street at capitola dinner
Wonderful hotel. Great staff. My room was clean. The breakfast area is very nice. Only 15 minute walk to the beach. In spite of what a previous review stated there are definitely microwavable coffee cups in the rooms as well as the lobby and also an in room coffee maker that is capable of heating up water.
Check-in was quick and the desk staff were so friendly, informative, and helpful. Secured parking- perfect! The room was a comfortable size for a family of 4. The shower was stocked with shampoo/conditioner/body wash and the bathroom was a good size. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable and it was so QUIET. We had breakfast at 6:30am and everything was ready to go, hot, and well-stocked. (Eggs, coffee, sausage, waffles, bagels, English muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, etc). Breakfast staff were AWESOME! The pool is heated so swimming can always be accomplished! Loved everything about this place. So glad we decided to stay here instead of in the hustle of Santa Cruz. We went to the boardwalk, the wharf, and went golfing at De Laveaga (quick and easy 10 min drive - either through town or on the 1), then got to escape to Capitola at the Fairfield Inn. Would highly recommend and definitely come back. Thank you!!
The gentleman who checked me in (I believe his name is Ryan- I m terrible at remembering names), he was phenomenal. Very nice and helpful, broke down where everything was, and overall just made the beginning of the stay very memorable, excellent customer service. The hotel is beautiful. The guest center is very nicely decorated and spacious, I haven t been to the pool/tub or gym yet, but the room is super nice and comfy. It even has a pull out couch, and my kid loved and took over that lol. On my way in I noticed a mall like 3 blocks away, and there are little shopping centers on every block with cool little shops and food- definitely seems like there s a lot to do nearby. A great location, would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a home away from home
Rooms: This hotel is very nice and the rooms are big and comfortable. Very fairly priced as well. Also, the included breakfast is pretty good, not your typical free hotel breakfast. I d definitely stay here again. Rooms
Nice, big, clean room. Clean sheets and beddings - except for one pillowcase which we asked to be changed and they did right away. Upon booking we asked for room with courtyard view and that was what we hot - nice view and with a balcony with two chairs. BUT: we caught the manager smoking right outside the building on the hotel property, not once but twice!! Really annoying since it is a non-smoking hotel! Plus we had kids along! Really uprofessional of the manager.
Nice Fairfield. Breakfast served till 10am daily which was quite nice. Room was decent. Take note that the suite doesnt have a full wall separation. Some rooms have balconies, while others dont. No lobby bar.
First time in Capitola and this place was phenomenal. Desk staff was welcoming. Free breakfast and it was a decent spread (waffles, eggs, bacon/sausage, etc). Breakfast attendants were courteous and serious about their jobs. They asked multiple times if everything was ok. I was able to walk to local restaurants, Whole Foods, Capitola Mall, and the beautiful Capitola beaches. Free parking!!! Will definitely stay here again.
This was an awesome property! Admittedly we were nervous as booking in this area can sometimes be a disaster. Ill def be coming back here!
Well appointed hotel, great underground parking area, clean, excellent breakfast suite, friendly staff. Rooms: King Jr suite is perfect for 2, nice separate seating area. Nearby activities: Walk to shops and restaurants. Beach is down the road. Plenty to see & do. Downtown Capitola has many restaurant/bar options, shops, arcade, beach, etc. Walkability: Easy to walk or bike around. Food and drinks: So many upscale eateries & quick bite options
Love the location and property. Customer service was off its game this time. Otherwise great spot
Rooms: Big sized rooms, comfortable Food and drinks: Buffer breakfast Rooms : 5/5 |
I was charged twice. They stole from me basically. I booked a room online and paid $249 and then was charged again by the hotel for $187. They told me they reversed the charges but have still not received any refund. I stayed there on June 9th. Stay away from these thieves.
Reserved a room with two queen beds, gave us a room with one queen bed and pullout couch, and then wouldn t refund
Like this place nice and clean. Breakfast and coffee yum.
Decent hotel. A/C didn t work in the room, but it s always so chilly in Capitola so you can just crack the window and leave the fan running and it s pretty comfortable. Hotel room is very clean. They offer laundry which you can get quarters for at the front desk. You may need to run the dryer twice though. The washer shows the time, but the dryer doesn t. It s a 45 min dryer for like $1.25, so not bad at all. It s nice they even offer that in the first place.
Clean comfortable room, however the TV in the living room didnt have volume. Had to watch the one in the bedroom (first world problem). I liked the Netflix button on the remote which made access to my account super easy. Walkability: Walking distance to coffee and food
Clean rooms and good location
We have been staying at Marriotts across California for years now. I am a bonvoy member as well. I wanted to be close to the city of Santa Cruz so thought Capitola would be nice. The location was perfect! So so so glad we did not stay at the Marriott in Santa Cruz near the boardwalk. That area is very busy, but great if you want easy access to the boardwalk, the bowling alley, laser tag, the video arcade, the beach, and the wharf. Otherwise, you have to pay $20 to $30 a day to park. However, the Marriott in Capitola is far quieter and literally if you head down 41st Ave you head straight into some of the most stunning Pacific Ocean beach and surfing coastline youve ever seen. There is a free lot at the end of the street and amazing restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is nice too. The hotel has a nice outdoor pool and jacuzzi which tends to crowded often. The breakfast is till 10 am everyday and there is a small nice patio to eat on too. The breakfast isnt bad. We were on the third floor with a pull out sofa, which is twin sized and two queen beds. It was very quiet on the third floor. It was made that much nicer because our room had a sliding glass door with a walkout balcony. It was nice to get fresh air in everyday. The staff were very helpful. There is free hot coffee and tea and hot chocolate in the lobby all day. The nice thing is the parking feels very safe and secure because it is located under the hotel and is gated. You can walk down the street to a very nice movie theater and shopping mall. Its about 10 minutes to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk as well. Make sure to check out all the amazing redwood state parks within 20 to 30 minutes!
Great staff
Pleasantly surprised. Very nice staff, clean rooms, and great atmosphere. We will be back.
The stay was very pleasant for us, the room was, contrary to our expectations, very large. There is a pool, hot tube and gym. The breakfast was really okay for the price. But you shouldnt expect a real buffet. Our car was able to park safely in the locked underground car park.
Overall, had a pleasant stay for a quick getaway for an anniversary celebration. The suite was cozy and the pictures were an accurate representation of what we got. Very cozy room and peaceful atmosphere. Great, convenient location. Some minor things could be upgraded though, as I don t know anyone who owns an iPhone 4 to connect to the speaker.
Did a 3 night stay. Room was big and nice, little pull out couch, couldn t find the refrigerator at first but realized it was in the dresser. Lobby was clean, look up and see the jellyfish. All the staff were friendly and helpful - Monique and Juana were great. We liked the secure garage parking. Great location - it was a toss up between here and the Best Western a block away, I can t speak to that hotel but glad we stayed here and will be back.
Rooms: Great room, very clean and comfortable. Food and drinks: Nice breakfast spread. Waffle bar was great! Rooms : 5/5 |
Walking distance from the movie theater. We had a problem with the hot water, but they gave us a significant credit off our room. Great customer service comfortable rooms.
Incredible rooms and absolutely loved the soft beds and 2 Chromecast TVs. HAD A BALCONY!!!! First time Ive seen that in a hotel. Rooms: Has a balcony. Food and drinks: Free breakfast!
Easily the best hotel (with the best parking) in the Santa Cruz area for its price range. Very nice, spacious rooms better than even some Courtyard locations. All staff was very friendly and professional. Rooms: Not quite as modern as a room at an AC or Aloft, but equally accommodating. Nearby activities: Santa Cruz, Aptos, Moss Landing, Sand City, Monterey, and even Big Sur are all within reasonable driving distance of this hotel. Safety: Very nicely lit parking garage with plenty of space for pedestrians, wheelchair accessible parking and entry, nicely lit stairwells with clean handrails and clearly marked exits, wheelchair accessible swimming pool and lounge, nonsmoking rooms. My only concern for children would be them leaving through the front door in the lobby, as it is close to a busy street. Walkability: Plenty of food and shopping within immediate walking distance. Jade St. Park is only a ten-minute walk or five-minute bike ride away. Capitola State Beach and Noble Gulch Park are both 25-30 minutes on foot or 10-15 minutes by bike. For those up to a more challenging walk/ride, anywhere as far south as New Brighton State Beach to Seacliff State Beach in Aptos might be ideal. Food and drinks: Continental breakfast and market selection typical of most Courtyard locations. Noteworthy details: Very tranquil, inviting lounge in the lobby with lots of natural lighting. Third floor offers nice views of serene, residential neighborhood.
Lots of light in the rooms. 2 TVs! The service here is awesome!!!!
Stayed 2 nights due to power outage at home. Hotel was clean, staff went above and beyond. The breakfast was very nice with lots of options. Very enjoyable stay. Highly recommend and well be planning a staykay return trip. Rooms: Clean and well appointed. Nearby activities: Close to beach, Capitola Village. Very walkable.
Hotel room was perfect size, nice, neat and clean. Not too far of a walk from the beach. Plenty of great restaurants and shopping nearby. Ryan, who checked me in, totally awesome! Super professional and friendly, and gives off that good people vibe that not a whole lot of people do anymore. Thanks Ryan for making My stay amazing. Will absolutely stay here again next visit.
Good location and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and new. Recommend stay at floor 3 because the room s soundproofing is almost non existent. You constantly hear your neighbors stomp across the room, and it gets even worse when there are kids running around. It feels like theres a herd of elephants running around. Definitely not a place If you want to relax and have a peace of mind.
Had a nice stay. The staff was polite and friendly. The room was clean, and everything in it worked correctly. They have a very nice breakfast buffet with lots of quick, tastey goodies. I didnt get to try out the bocce court. But it sounds like a great amenity that would be fun in a group. Overall, it was pleasant. Noteworthy details: The pool is heated and maintained nicely. The location is about 10 minutes to the boardwalk and in proximity to plenty of good places to eat. The parking is pretty secure, as you have to use your room key to access the garage.
I think the room was called a Jr Suite but it was nice and spacious.. Biggest negative was that my AC didnt work and that was a big miss for me because I can not sleep in the heat and it was pretty warm in there. Overall, 3.5/5.
Pros: Location, comfortable beds and great pillows, quiet, free underground gated private parking, complimentary breakfast, nice gym and outdoor pool. Cons: Weak water pressure and little hot water, tiny TVs. Summary, centrally located, easy in and out, get up early (7am) if you want a hot shower and less people around for breakfast. If you are here to watch TV, I feel sorry for you on so many levels. Suggestion, offer tortillas (flour and corn) at breakfast so customers can make their own breakfast burritos or tacos, you already offer pico and the eggs would go down much easier.
ATTENTION!!! WARNING!!! Its the best place to stay in Capitola!!! Therefore, PLEASE!!! dont come here so they have more availability for me. Thank you. Rooms : 5/5
My three ladies and I had been in our room for about 45 minutes when two men entered our room via card key. Thank goodness one of the ladies had just dressed - otherwise it could have been much worse. We were completely startled and the two men were completely embarrassed and apologetic, when it clearly was not their fault. Shortly after that, we received a phone call from someone down at the front desk - a man who wanted to verify we were in the right room?? I thought that was incredibly unprofessional - how were we (the guests) in the wrong room?? Your front desk issued the same set of keys obviously to different reservations! Why would this be the guests fault? I was not rude in the least but was somehow hung up on. Well, of course after dinner, we went back to our room only to find both of our keys no longer working. We were wondering if someone was in our room? Were our belongings safe? Paying almost $350.00 for one night and I can t access my room and it could have been compromised again without us there? We went down to the front desk where they were unable to issue us new keys to get in to our room due to some problem with the system. So, now we have no keys to access in/out of my room. She apologized profusely and had to let us in our room and bring the keys later. We asked to speak to a manager and told no, he was not in but would be in in the morning. The next morning after breakfast around 9 AM once again, we were told the manager was not in and could not help us. I have never in all my travels ever had some stranger walk into my hotel room with my card key. Also, to have absolutely no one in charge to remedy the situation is completely unacceptable. I emailed both Marriott and the GM with zero response. I would never stay here again.
This is by far the worst place to stay. The rooms are stuffy and have a musty smell. Neither tv worked in our room. We complained and asked to be moved but they did not move us. I was with my three small kids to have a staycation and movie night. I tried to switch the tvs and see if one would work. When I complained that night and the next day to ask for a credit the manager accused me of lying and that I tampered with the tvs to just get a free night. Even though I complained to several employees the day before and asked to be moved. The manager Derek Greek is a disgrace to the Marriott name. He proceeded to call me a liar and refused to give me any type of credit or refund. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
The hotel is overall tidy and clean. The reception was friendly as well as the rest of staff. Spacious and clean room equipped with all basic amenities. The place is quiet and the beds are really good. The gym was small but well functioning. Breakfast was yummy and fresh. Highly recommended place for quality, price and location.
After cancelling the booking months ago, I was still charged for my (cancelled) reservation. Even after the booking agent called on my behalf, they still refused to refund full amount, claiming the room was empty. The hotel was not booked up, so a blatant lie and quite an unnecessary charge.
It would have been all 5s but we had an oversized vehicle that could not go in garage. And others took the blacktop space up instead of going in garage where they could fit easily. Front desk told us we could park on street but street was full or other nearby streets were permit only. She didnt seem to care. Luckily one of the vehicles that could fit in the parking garage left, otherwise we would have been without any parking options
Overall a good hotel . Breakfast was good, my room was comfortable and well cleaned . Location it s not amazing but will do
I loved the whole experience at this hotel it was really hard to find a hotel with a hot tub in it but this one was amazing. The tub was in the bathroom but there was a window you could open with shutters so you could see the living room and the TV and there was a TV in the living room and in the bedroom so me and my man got to watch separate shows. The staff was great the room was clean and we only paid like $150 or something. The bed was comfortable, there was a fridge microwave coffee oh yeah and the free breakfast was the most stocked Ive ever seen and Ive been to a lot of hotels. Had to write this review so I can remember where we stayed if we go down there again. Five stars for sure!
The staff was great and very helpful. The rooms were fine. My major complain is how expensive it is to book a room during UCSC graduation weekend. As a thirty some year old, I couldnt afford to book my own room and had to split it with my parents because I couldnt afford the $254/night fare (taxes not included) for one room. And consequently I had a terrible night sleep before my graduation. Its unfortunate that hotels gauge the prices of two star hotel rooms. There is nothing fancy about this hotel that should elevate the price so high.
Great hotel to stay at. Near beach and shop. Really good location.
We booked for 5 people. Only 4 towels in the hotel. The rooms are nice but not soundproof. We heard the TV and people talking in the next room. And also the room above. In the morning, there wasnt much left at breakfast. Theres a busy road right in front. Not much room to eat in the morning. The staff was great and the hotel very, very clean. Thank you.
Overall a great place to stay! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and unique in design. The under ground parking was clean and felt safe. Breakfast was good and fresh. My only gripe is the bed I got was heavily worn and in my opinion due for a replacement. I d stay here again.
For it s kind, it is a good choice. We had a junior suite with 2 double beds and a sofa bed. Somewhat convenient for a family with teenagers. Breakfast is the usual complementary bagel, omelet ,cereal ,fruit and bad American coffee. They put only 4 towels in our room even though I booked a room for 5. When I called to ask for extra towels,no body responded. We went downstairs and there was no one to be found. Night shift but still.
Great hotel.
Was great... everything about this place! From the location to the service to the price! I will stay there again! And hopefully soon!
The hot water was not working. When I called the front desk they told us it was a known issue and it would be fixed in a couple days. So unfortunately my family had to shower with cold water. They should have said something prior to, or at the time of checkin and we could have chosen a different place to say!
You did not refund a portion of my stay. You refunded the 2nd night booked, but I didn t even stay there. I checked out early due to the no hot water. To be clear - no refund or compensation was provided for the $365.78 paid directly to your hotel for the 1st night. There was no hot water - yet you charged me full price and provide awful customer service. I see that you replied to my Google review, but haven t returned any calls (6 in the past 2 weeks) or emails (2 in the past week). I expect a call or email response and will detail this report in my open case with Marriott corporate.
No hot water. Supposed to stay 2 nights over a holiday weekend, left after 1 night.
Really nice for what it is. Parking garage is underground. Had a junior suite. Great rates and loved the dual shower head shower. Kinda weird to have a window that goes from the bathroom into the living room, but whatever. Will stay here again.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable! We had a junior suite and the jetted tub in the bathroom was amazing! Will definitely come back!
Great location, attentive staff at the free breakfast, and secured parking lot. Knocked off a star because no benefits given for titanium elite status. It was a quiet weekend (parking lot was 40% capacity on Sunday 8am) but they didn t give us an upgrade to a ground floor or a room with a patio as requested.
This is a horrible hotel. They make it impossible for you to contact their front desk in any way. I am a Marriott BonVoy member and am truly disappointed with how little customer service we experienced in dealing with this property. They are fine with taking your money but dont ask to ever speak to anyone. You can try going through the phone tree. Hit O, 5, 7, do whatever you like but they do not want you to speak to anyone at this hotel. Very bad customer service and I will never choose to stay here again. Stay away.
A great stay overall! Amazing breakfast, large, clean rooms, great area.
Food and drinks: Best breakfast offerings compared to all other hotels I have visited Rooms
The staff there was amazing. The gentleman who checked me in was so welcoming and helped make our Valentine s Day very special, beautiful hotel with lovely rooms, and so close to all of the activity and beach.
Desk clerk was not friendly at all, everything else was wonderful
No nonsense place. Not a walkable distance to the beach but a couple minutes drive. It was very clean, has small gym, hot tub/pool area that looked clean. Included free hot breakfast and good quality coffee. The service we got was a 10. Derek was very accommodating. We were to put it loosely stuck in the area because of road closures and ended up having a really nice day knowing we had a decent place to stay overnight.
This hotel is excellent and we wish we d stayed longer instead of spending a fortune in Monterey. It s extremely clean and the staff is so friendly. It s a mile from downtown Capitola and has secured, covered parking that s included in the price! The breakfast had everything you need and the ladies running it were so nice (tip them). We ate at Shadowbrook restaurant which was a fun and unique experience. They ll even pick you up and drop you off in their own cab. The food was great too! Stay at this hotel, you won t regret it
We had a great experience here. The staff when we got there was very helpful and nice. The gated garage was a bonus. The room was very clean and set up well. We loved the curtains. They also blocked out the light at night well. My son even liked the fold out couch bed. We will be back for sure.
Excellent customer service at chek in. Room is sanitized and feels very safe.
Clean, nice rooms, friendly staff, 5 mins from the beach!
Complete fail. Paid for an upgraded fireplace room with a non-working fireplace. Im done with the Fairfield brand.
Stayed here recently because I visited this hotel a couple years ago and it was awesome. However this time, the front desk was rude and not helping when we complained about our upstairs neighbor being loud at 1am in the morning. She s like, oh we can t do anything, feel free to talk to them yourself. After the frustrating experience, we wrote a review in the Marriott app and soon got a very defensive email about our review from the manager. Maybe our experience was a one-off, but we were really disappointed because we had a great experience the first time.
Weve stayed at this location two times now, and both times the experience has been great. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the rooms are very clean and the updated decor throughout the hotel is very nice. The location is wonderful, right across from a supermarket. They have parking that feels very safe given it is under the hotel. Thank you for two great stays, well be back!
It is a great place to stay. I travel for work and they have always gone out of their way to assist me.
Love the whril pool hot tub inside the room. Friendly staff overall great experience
Wonderful hotel, clean rooms, very big. Free breakfast. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, even played bocci!
Good location. A little pricey.
Been staying here for many nights during our move into town. Clean rooms, friendly staff, hardy breakfast spread served with tesla and ev plug in in the covered parking lot. I keep coming back.
Great
It was my first time visiting my home town since before the pandemic, I was so pleased to be staying at my favorite place. Not only is it located blocks from where I grew up and raised my children, but it is walking distance to the beach, Pleasure Point, the mall, movies and so many eateries its hard to keep track. They had completed a refresh since my last stay, the new muted blues and greys look fabulous. During my stay I had tons of friends coming and going to visit me. Kenya at check-in went above and beyond to accommodate my room preference and the night staff was spot on with guest requests. I can not wait for my next stay!
Excellent rooms, moderate prices.
Super nice rooms and public spaces and gym. Close to some nice restaurants, brew pubs, beach and nice walk to the tourist town part of Capitola.
Watch out! Got charged 280$ smoking fee for my 1 night stay when me and my wife dont smoke. Called to get a explanation and was told nothing. Talked to Derek Gill who was rude and no help even hung up on me.
Really Bad..? Wifi almost zero ! Reception. Front desk guy very rude..! Bed and tovel very old bad smel We could not sleep
NICE! Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent location and rooms.
Friendly staff clean rooms fast internet close to shopping
Staff members were very helpful to me when I was in a pinch regarding my car even when I was not a guest so I would have to assume that guests would be treated equally as well. Thanks again.
Worth every penny. Polite staff, great parking, clean rooms.
Spacious, clean room. Very nice people. Convenient parking. bathrooms are a bit dated.
Front desk man Giovanni was absolutely top notch! Excellent stay, our room was very spacious and well accommodated. Would most definitely come back!
Just renovated. Great room and friendly staff.
Very good except no pool but obviously not their fault. They do have a great pool though. Clean, comfy and great service
Be prepared if traveling during Covid 19. House keeping can not clean your room if stay more than 1 night. Make sure you find housekeeping to get any and all amenities dont forget coffee. You get a bag breakfast with the same stuff every day. you have to look for houseg to get coffee and anything else
Beautiful hotel, great location
Excellent rooms
Nice rooms and great staff. The guy who is at the front counter is amazing, offers personalized service during Covid and has the best personality.
Close to the beach and plenty of shops and eateries.
It is great staying at Fairfield Inn & Suites Santa Cruz - Capitola. It is very clean, well organized, and proper COVID-19 procedure in place. Every morning, breakfast is provided, choice of cereals, muffin, and biscuit sandwich. There is always coffee and water, you just have to ask for it. The location is very convenient, lots of retails and cafes around the area, all within walking distance. Overall, my family and friends find it pleasant to stay here.
Friendly helpful staff and super convenient location ...
Its staff is always friendly and the house keeping does such a super great job at cleaning. Its super clean.
I love this place... Specially their rooms with Jacuzzis... And the staff are really nice.
Awesome place to stay.
Big rooms, clean, friendly staff, great location
Amazing experience!
Great hotel. Quiet comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Gated underground free parking is a nice feature too.
Kind and professional employees, clean room and great breakfats. Having 3 sons, I especially appreciated the trays provided to bring breakfast to your room!
Excellent and clean suites, fun modern seaside decor with a glass jellyfish in lobby. Convenient location to explore the areas shoreline activities.
Excellent Hotel
As a regular business traveler, I have several options when choosing a hotel. Ive been staying regularly at this hotel for several years. The property is very well maintained, the staff are courteous and accommodating, and the bar/lounge is a friendly place to unwind at the end of a work day. The location offers easy access to a variety of restaurants, entertainment, shopping and the beach. A gated parking garage offers safety and security and provides charging accommodations for electric vehicles. Travel can be unpredictable, but even when Im arriving late, the staff are always there to welcome me with a smile! I also take advantage of the delicious breakfast bar every morning. I highly recommend this Marriott location.
The Jellyfish Lounge is a quiet full bar that allows for relaxation and good conversation. The bartenders there are friendly and knowledgeable.
The rooms are nice but customer service is not so great. Housekeeping skipped our room for some reason and after talking to front desk about it, they still didn t even send fresh towels! Not convinced that this represents the Marriott standards.
This is our second time staying here. Have enjoyed both stays. Nice place!
Very comfortable.
For the price, I couldnt really fault it. The staff were super friendly and it felt very safe (considering that SC can be a little sketchy at times). Location is great and they have free parking which is always a plus.
After checking in on Friday, my husband and I placed the do not disturb sign on the door and left to go to the Wharf. When we returned the sign was no longer on the door, but we didnt think anything of it. We enjoyed the rest of the evening watching television in the room, we checked out the next day. On Tuesday I noticed there was a charge that was more than expected. When I called the lady at the front desk she said we were charged a smoking fee. I told her we do not smoke! We are not smokers! She said call back tomorrow morning and speak to the manager Derek. I called the following morning and spoke to Derek who told me that my husband and I were smoking and set off the fire alarm and the fire dept came to the hotel and they had to evacuate the entire hotel. He said it happened out in the vicinity of our room. I told him we werent even there! We are not smokers! We dont smoke! My husband and I didnt even know this occurred until Wednesday after speaking to Derek. 1. We were not in or around the building. We were on the Wharf. The nice thing about receipts is that theyre timed stamped. 2. We arent smokers! We didnt smell smoke when we returned, which is another reason why we are surprised. 3. The manager seemed not to believe me when I told him were werent even there. 4. He said the hotel was charged by the fire dept. This is not my husband or my problem. 5. The 2nd floor is not an exclusive floor. ANYONE and EVERYONE has access to the floor. 6. I asked Derek to please check the security camera to find out who was smoking in the hallway. He said they do not have cameras in the hallway. 7. This hotel decided to falsely accuse us and charge us a total of $463.52. 8. Ive called Corporate. We expect better from Fairfield/Marriott. 9. My daughters school comes up here at least 3 times yearly for sporting events. The kids stay in the host schools dorms. We will never stay here again.
Súper good pool, the hot chocolate is also pretty good
Nice, typical Fairfield, I dont expect problems and I did not find any
Amazing location, near the mall and the beach. Movie theater In the next shopping center. Front desk staff is very accommodating and friendly. Lobby very clean as well as the rooms. Bar was a little quiet but other than that the atmosphere was good. Pool was nice and heated. Look forward to coming back soon.
Super clean and good
I stayed here for a few nights on a girls getaway. The room was great, larger then most, and even tho it was on a main Street the noise want that bad. The breakfast was filling and the bar area was fun. Very friendly staff. Very reasonable for what you get. And it was only a 10 minutes walk to capitola.
Good continental breakfast
We stay at this hotel every time we are in this area. Very quiet with clean and comfortable rooms. Great place to relax after a day of activities. Also, the secured self parking locate under the hotel is a plus. Highly recommended.
Really nice place to stay in Capitola. Close to everything. Pleasure Point is just a short walk away. Very clean and accommodating rooms. Definitely will stay here again.
This place is awesome! Staff is very nice! Rooms are super clean! I dont know why I am yelling!
Great hotel nice rooms
My husband and I have stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Capitola 3 times over the past 3 years and each time has been a great experience! Along with the friendly and helpful staff, it is very clean, the rooms are a nice size with a comfortable extended living area, and they offer a great breakfast!
