I showed up despite and man Walter took care of me. From all the single dads who just held the flashlight growing up. Thanks!
Fantastic Service!! The transmission in my 1959 classic car wouldn’t shift and most shops didn’t have the skills to do the rebuild on this older transmission. Walt rebuilt my transmission and it runs like new. I can barely feel it shift now. Thanks again!
Dear Walt, Thank you so very much for the transmission replacement you recently did on our 2008 Toyota Highlander. We received a very different assessment from the Toyota Service Dept with the local dealership … one that was cost prohibitive. Your timely evaluation, sourcing and replacement of the transmission, had the vehicle running within about 3 weeks (most of the time for the transmission to arrive), and at about 25% of the quoted price from the dealership service center. We are very grateful and have found the “really great mechanic” everyone hopes for. Sincere thanks!
I have a 03 Mazda Tribute. I thought it was a transmission issue , Walt called me 2 days later telling me it wasn't the transmission, its the rear Cat. I asked him how much was he going to charge he told me it's ok. Don't have to. I was surprised. Walt quoted me $2200 for rebuilt transmission other Transmission shop quoted me $3200-$3900.Walt is the first mechanic I have ever met that is truly a good honest guy. He made my day. He's not out to up-price his service. Anybody needing transmission service I will send to him. Thank You for helping me out.
The best honest and knowledgeable transmission shop in SoCal. Very happy
3/5. Walt’s Transmission & Auto let me down. Perhaps my expectations were a bit high. The reviews on Google and Yelp were great. The encouragement to visit the shop and ask about the discounts listed on the welcoming, so I visited Walt. Unfortunately, I wish I’d trusted my gut and taken my Toyota Prius to a Toyota dealership. During a routine oil change at the Valvoline off of W Olive and S Buena Vista, a mechanic spotted wetness in the housing beneath my transmission (pictures below). He recommended I get it checked out to make sure that there wasn’t a leak. I made an appointment with Walt and stopped by his shop a few days later. He ran a “diagnostic” on my car and at the end of it simply said “the transmission’s fine.” I asked if there was anything else wrong and he sort of brushed me off. I didn’t have a good feeling about the work. I asked Walt if he gave a military discount, since his site encourages customers to ask. He told me that he didn’t offer discounts of any kind. My bill came out to roughly $285. I nodded my head and said, “Okay, Walt.” The next week, I took my car to get a diagnostic at Toyota of Glendale. The cost was $220 and I got a complete report of the multi-point inspection done on my vehicle. The mechanic at Toyota identified the problem that the first mechanic at Valvoline was alluding to. He stated that the axle seals in my Prius were worn and small amounts of fluid had been leaking out into the housing that sits beneath the engine and transmission. The axle seals needed to be replaced. While Walt was correct that the actual transmission was fine, it would have been helpful to understand what would make me go see him in the first place. If you want a quality assessment done on your vehicle, I recommend going somewhere else.
Brought my 2013 Subaru outback here and Waltz did a good job, very honest and very professional, I would recommend him to anyone who need transmission works, I appreciate you Waltz. *****
Walt is a Godsend! Amazing work. Honest repairs at an honest price. He works on newer and older cars. Does a lot of work on my 1970 Mustang and I can always trust that the work will be done correctly and efficiently. A+ 10/10 the best! Thank you Walt I really appreciate you!
