Brendan had the tire we needed, which is a low profile, hard to get one. He brought it over to another tire shop that we were close to. They put it on for us but Brenden was super quick to bring it over. Thank you!!!

The place is beautiful with large garden spaces and many fruit trees. Clean toilets and many dining spaces to enjoy your snack or lunch. There are grills ready to use. It is quite spacious and you can explore all the facilities walking through the gardens.

On the way back to LA from Las Vegas, our tire blew out 10 min past the state line just before 5 pm. Luckily a very kind man pulled over to help change my shredded tire out with the spare. Afterwards, I immediately called Baker tire and spoke with Brendon. He was super nice and agreed to wait for me even though he was preparing to close shop for the day. I told him my car make and model and he assured me he would have the tire we need. Once we arrived, he quickly assessed my car and replaced our shredded tire with a new tire. Brendon was very professional and polite. I knew we were in good hands the minute I met him. He had us all fixed up and out within 20 minutes. Thank you so much Brendon. It was great talking to you and we wish you the best!

My husband and I just came by here after calling ahead to get a new tire trailer put on and buy an extra spare. We said we d be there in about and hour, Brandon came in on a Sunday to help on time and got the repair done in a matter of minutes. It was such a relief after a terribly long road trip with so many other breakdowns and issues. There s nothing like feeling helpless in the desert like that and having someone who is kind, caring, and hard working to pull through for you. What an angel in the middle of nowhere!!

Over priced tires ,120 dollars for a 25 dollar tire . Forty dollars to put it on the rim . Have been a mechanic for 30 years would never send anybody to them

My alternator in my Odyssey failed when I got into town. We were pretty much stuck. Brandon had a replacement in stock, quoted me a reasonable price, and got it replaced in an hour.

Our Car broke down on the way to Vegas and our insurance company told us to wait for 1 and half hours and waiting in the middle of the desert is not fun at all. And we saw their website with very good reviews called them right away and yes they were absolutely professional and fast. And not just that He honestly told us he cant repair our vehicle and let our vehicle to stay in his shop without any fees till the car transportation came to pick it up. We were camping in the area and got 2 flat tires at the same time. The first place I called did not have our size tires in stock but referred me to Baker Auto. Brendan had two 225/55R18 tires in stock. We were in a group so another car was able to drive the 2 flats over to get the 2 new tires onto the wheels. Brendan was easy to reach on the phone and communicated clearly so getting to the shop in between his other calls was easy to coordinate. This happened on day 2 of a 5 day trip so we were glad to be able to finish the trip. Thanks Baker Auto!!!!!

These guys came through when I needed a semi trailer tire. Team here is very helpful. Its not a pretty place but these guys are pros.

Wonderful! Fast and fair. We were on Bell Baker road with a flat coming from Vegas. He arrived in 20 minutes. Changed our tire in about 10 minutes. The price was fair for the tire and service. They were amazing. We appreciate they were quick and very friendly. Thank you for making a terrible situation much better.

Thank goodness for this place! We had a tire blowout on 1-15 halfway between Barstow and Baker at 9:00 at night. We had an important event we had to get home for the next day-we absolutely needed to get back on the road. Our insurance s roadside assistance turned out to be useless. Baker Auto Repair charged a very reasonable price for sending a guy after hours to our location in the middle of nowhere to mount a new tire on our rim. The other guys we called either didn t have the tire in stock or were fully prepared to drain our bank account. Baker Auto was honest, fast and fair priced and saved our bacon.

Cant say enough good things about the mechanic here. He saved our family road trip. Our radiator fractured going up the grade east of Baker, and an hour later Brenden the mechanic had a new radiator installed and we were back on the road!

Brendon was great!!! We called at 7:30pm on a Sunday night (after calling a few other shops that couldn t help or weren t open) with an issue we couldn t diagnose (screechy wheel). He arrived within ten minutes and took care of the problem very quickly. Really appreciative!

Were professional and had the tire we needed at a reasonable price to get us back on the road trip!

Car broke down just about to exit the area and call different locations, but this gave me the best price, about 5 mins, Marcos showed up with towing truck and took me all the way to Victorville to get my to the dealership, such a great person and advise to help me decide the best based hes experience on the job duties on the area, no regrets on deciding to take the car th dealership instead on a regular mechanic, for starting been a frustrating and stressful drive to understanding that things happened unexpectedly, Marcos im always gonna remember you aiding me and my brother on that day.

We had to replace the tire that my friend blew out while driving on a dirt road earlier that day. She had no idea how to change to her spare so I had to lend a hand (she also didnt know how to call shop to get estimates, so I also did that for her... ) Anyways, thats just how I found this place; gave them a call and the guy gave me an estimate of $200 for everything (cost of new tire + labor). We came on by, and the guy got to work right away, and was done in less than 15 minutes! She paid $200. True to their word! (Or the estimates are very, very accurate ) Also, the guy was telling me thier business plans to go mobile, because the rent is way too expensive. So I guess keep your eye out in the near future, they may not be at this location anymore much longer... So, always call first!

Our Hyundai Hybrid was alarming with a yellow warning light and beeping outside of Baker California. We saw the reviews for Baker auto repair shop and stopped there. Brendan ran the code scanner and couldnt see anything wrong but was very nice and gave us his card and said he could tow us if needed, later on. After scanning, the alarm stopped so we decided to say a few Hail Marys and continue on. We wont hesitate to call him if needed.

This guy was AWESOME! Our car started having trouble around the state line near Primm, we managed to make it to Baker Auto Repair. We were reluctant to pay for a diagnostic not knowing if they were able to make the repairs, but the guy offered us the diagnostic for free, explained exactly what we needed to do to repair it ourselves, and directed us to the nearest auto parts store. He wouldn t even accept the money we offered. I hope I m never broken down in Baker again, but if I am, this is where I ll go!

Brendon and his friend were awesome! Needed a serpentine belt. Gave me a quote and told me there would be additional charge for going to Barstow, CA to get the part. Both prices were fair considering we didnt want to get stranded between Baker, CA and Las Vegas. Told me it would take 3 hours and had his friend take use to the other side of town to a gas station with a food court and AC. At 2 hours and 30 minutes he sent his friend to pick us up...paid and were back on the road 3 hours after drop off! It was 116° that day! We are very thankful Brendon was there for us! Thank you! Thank you!

Not all heroes wear capes. Our car was having problems driving through the desert near here. We called Baker Auto Repair before they opened. Brendon promptly returned our call. We needed a part that was not available, so Brendon promptly arranged for a part to be delivered from a city 60 miles away, same day. Completed the repair quickly once the part arrived. On the road by mid afternoon. Grateful to Brendon for quickly diagnosing and fixing our issue. Thanks!

Broke a serpentine belt and found Baker Auto Repair to be what appeared to be the only open shop in town. With no other options and no hotels in town, I felt I was at their mercy. Brandon sourced the belt, had someone make the two hour round trip to pick it up, and gave me a ride to a restaurant to wait in air conditioning on a 118 degree day, had someone pick me up at the restaurant when the service was completed, and got me back on the road. It says a lot to offer such great service to a customer who has no other options.

The gentleman there helped me as much as he could for being a small repair shop. He was kind and friendly and gave me a couple places to go to in Vegas where I could get my issue taken care of.

The mechanic was kind enough to open on a Sunday after we called. He identified the problem with our car but said he couldn t fix it, and then declined our offers of payment. I ve never met a nicer mechanic.

We had a check engine light come on just outside Barstow (heading to Las Vegas), and it concerned us. They diagnosed the problem, ordered a part from Barstow, fixed it for a fair price, and got us back on the road. They even asked us to let them know when we got safely to Vegas! Great place with great people!

Ended up not being able to help me with my issue, but was up front, charged me a nominal fee for the return he did do and called around to get me a decently priced tow and mechanic in Barstow to help get me going again.

Quick and efficient. We had a flat and needed tyre replacement which was done quickly and they even stayed up late for us.

Came through when our battery light lit up on the way out of state. Popped in and they determined it was the alternator and had us back on the road in two hours!

The man charges $2,000 and tries his best to guess what could be the problem.

My parents car broke down in Baker and we called them. Brandon was the only one in the area who would actually pick up the phone and take calls. He came out to the car to check it out. He was unable to fix it, but tried to refer them to others around the Baker area who could. He came and helped get the car towed until we can get it fixed. Being in the middle of nowhere, desperate, worried and anxious, it was a relief to have 1 person we knew would answer when we called and needed help.

Today we got a flat tire in our rental car when we were about 35 miles away from Baker, and slowly drove there on the donut. The mechanic took care of business right away and replaced our tire as the tear was significant. We appreciated the timely and knowledgeable service!

My Ford flex broke down outside of baker and the mobile mechanic never showed. After comparing the reviews I suppose it was luck that he didnt show up. I was very pleased to find a shop open after 5 on a Saturday and everyone was extremely kind. They were polite over the phone and in person they offered a tow and even offered to pick us up from the gas station since we had to locate an atm to pay for towing. I had to leave my vehicle and find a way back to Vegas in which he also tried to assist. Only giving 4 stars because I have not had any work done yet but from the reviews and first impression i am happy so far, will update after repairs.

My cousin and I we re having car issues on our way to LA from Zion. We stopped in Bakers to see what the issue was and the owner was so helpful! He did a diagnostic test, free of charge. Unfortunately under warranty, work could only be done at the car dealership. But the owner did everything he could to help us. Highly recommend.

Lost a trailer tire on the drive between Barstow and Vegas pulled in to the shop $170 and 20 minutes later we were back on the road.

We had an emergency traveling through Baker on our way to Utah and are so thankful for this place! Brendon was awesome and changed our tire and got us back on the road within 10 minutes!! And they didn t take advantage of our demise- and instead .. felt as though it was cheaper than when we actually originally purchased our tires. It was $180 out the door for a brand new tire, mount, and all - absolutely saved our trip and turned an emotional stressed situation into a delightful 10 min break from chaos. They have no idea how thankful we are! Then.. to top it off, they are holding our tire until we come back through town because our car was loaded with our Christmas and we couldn t fit it (it s under warranty, which is why we wanted it back) I highly recommend these guys!! Thank you for saving our Christmas and not taking advantage of our emergency!

Needed immediate assistance as I came up on the Baker exit. The first stop wasnt much help, should have just went straight to this one! I just needed one bolt and as soon as I told him the size and thread he got me a brand new one immediately! I informed him I was a little knowledgeable with cars, but he came out and helped me get on my way anyways. Highly recommend! We were traveling south on Interstate 15 from Henderson NV, and about 3 miles north of Baker, CA the car lost power and we coasted to the side of the road. AAA arranged for a tow truck and recommended Baker Auto. When we arrived, Brendon greeted us and began to diagnose the problem. Very logical thinking and he certainly knew what he was doing. After running some tests, his conclusion was a malfunction with the fuel delivery system. Simply put, we ran out of gas. Brendon put some gas in the tank and bingo the car was operational. If ever you are in Baker and need automotive help, Brendon at Baker Auto is the person to see.

Great people. Took a look at my car and helped me figure out what was wrong (broken rear differential) at no charge.

We felt that we met an angel in the middle of California desert. Our car engine was over heated with the steam coming out on I-15 and we were able to drive another 10 miles or so just to get to this auto mechanic shop. On our way from Las Vegas to LA with my 6 year old and scarce cell phone reception on I-15, we were scared. When we were told that our car might have to be towed to Mazda Dealer in Las Vegas or Victorville which are both more than 1 hour away, we accepted that it was a bad day and there s nothing we can do. The owner showed up and with much experience, he diagnosed the problem well. He told is that someone had put an engine oil to the coolant and that has clogged the radiator causing it to overheat. He drained the oil by letting the engine run while having a funnel with coolant being added. We saw the oil surface above the coolant slowly over time. We test drove the area a while and thought it would be safe to drive to home. Wow! What a grace that he had an auto mechanic shop near Mojave Desert and we found him! Thank you and thank you for saving our day. To top it off, he even called us an hour later to make sure that we are safe. We are super grateful!

We were halfway up this nasty hill towing a 21 trailer bout 11 miles north of Baker and the coolant seemed to leak in the temperature gage hit the maximum. We immediately stopped the vehicle on the side of the road at the exit. We saw the good reviews on yelp for Baker auto and had AAA tow the SUV to their shop. Very honest and professional mechanics that diagnosed the problem and fixed it in an efficient and simple manner. Great job to this shop! There is definitely a big demand for auto services due to the challenging hill.

I had a tire blow out and was towed to this auto repair shop. Almost 9pm and they still took me in. The next day they changed the tire and made sure my truck was safe to drive back home. Truly appreciate the help from everyone there.

Stopped by to get a second opinion on a coolant loss issue and Marc helped me run some basic tests to confirm. He s an honest man and worth a visit if you re having problems.

Got towed here at closing time. Staff stayed an hour late to help us. Before they knew if it could be fixed, the owner offered to take us 1 1/2 hours away to a hotel, then offered to pick us back up in the morning. Amazing service!! Highly reccommend.

Bad, the guy told us the car was okay to drive and left us in the middle of the road.

Called from the road with leaking radiator hose, they said bring it in, I pulled in the driveway and the guy yells at me that I hadn t told him I was towing a boat. (I didn t know that was relevant) and then says he s working on something and would give me tools to do it myself but had to move onto the side of the road. Unbelievable treatment of a potential(ex) customer!

Irresponsibility, it could have caused a tragedy just to earn more money, I had to pay $250 dollars to reconnect a hose to the radiator, a job poorly done because the next day the car broke down again and no one answered the phone, my daughter was alone in this problem, so I had to travel from Long Beach to Baker to rescue her, it was a nightmare for my daughter, I could no longer trust her work so I escorted my daughter to Utah, my expenses more than doubled.

Stay away. I am sorry that you dont remember me. I was in a motorhome and you did help me to remount my right side mirror. We agreed to retry the following morning by appointment but you never showed up. You only had one chance to impress me . Sorry.

Solid group of mechanics. They were very helpful and friendly. Fair price and is considering their location and mostly experiencing in working with emergency break downs on vehicles.

After replacing my fuel pump Baker Auto Repair stuck a spark plug in my vent hose so I couldnt get my gas tank to fill, said it was a generator hose leak, Now after numerous repairs at different places, no one was able to figure out why engine ran rough and stalled. I finally found out they put in the wrong fuel pump. and the pressure was way to high. It has cost me over $1500.00 in repairs at 4 different shops. I was also told i probably didnt need a fuel pump in the first place, I needed a catalytic converter and an EGR valve.

Overpriced, didnt accept checks, took forever.

The worst experience I have had at not only a mechanic, but any place of business period. I had the misfortune of meeting three individuals: 1. The man I spoke to early in the morning who could not be bothered and had me research availability of my own part (an alternator) from his supplier (Autozone). I was actually happy to do it at the time. 2. The man who opened the shop at 11 was not only unhelpful to me an others, but rude toward pretty much anyone who approached. 3. The owner (AKA: A COUNTY SHERIFF) who answered the call of our dispute himself and had me pay in full. Nice enough of a guy. Good cop. Terrible business owner. Copy and paste any small town sheriff and you ll have the picture right. I think it is understood by everyone that things are more expensive in remote locations. They have to be. But man #2 not only failed to disclose a simple battery charge (in which I pulled the battery myself with my own tools) was $25 but also that all services are cash only. He vaguely gestured to the entire town when I asked where I could pull cash. After walking a quarter mile to two different gas stations that didn t have an ATM or cash back, I was fed up. I went back to Baker Automotive, and offered the $8 cash I had. When he would not accept or assist me in finding an ATM, I left the money and took my battery back. Man #2 tried to grab it from me but I kept walking. He then called the police on me, filmed me, and introducing me to Man #3 Owner/Sheriff. In squad car and full uniform. I tried reasoning with Man #3. But I could see it wasn t going to do me any good (as he tried to argue $90 to charge a battery is normal and I was getting a deal. ). He drove me to and ATM in the back of a squad car. I paid them and got the hell out. I hopefully will never encounter them ever again. I get that places like this can charge whatever they want because they re the only option. The price is the price and I m this case I was more than willing to pay the $25z. But they could at least display an ounce of customer serviceability before calling their muscle. Edit/Response: 1. I have never intimidated anyone into doing anything in my life. As a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer I think my integrity in this regard is well documented. You may also review Man #2s video of me if looking for verification that I did not attempt to drive away. I waited calmly for the officer and left a message with the dispatch operator asking for advice in this regard. I did not know what to do as I had never had the police called on me before in my life. 2. I am not sure why the officer CLEARLY described himself as the owner NUMEROUS times. You should ask him why. It should not be difficult as all of you were on a first name basis. 3. You are correct that there was no part to be picked up. Autozone informed me it would not be available until Tuesday. This did not work for my schedule and thus I had the battery charged in attempt to limp my car home without said new alternator. You would have known my intentions and had the opportunity to direct me not to work on my car, while I waited for your two hour delayed opening, had you not interrupted me and hung up the phone after saying, Someone else will be there at 11 to deal with you.

They were nice enough to drive me to a motel. Yeah. Four stars for sure! Oh and one more thing. I know for a fact that the owner helps many down and out people at his expense. God bless brother.

Horrible experience with them. Charged my husband $300.00 for fixing a serpentine belt that only cost $23.00 dollars. They over charge and take advantage of the necessity that people have even staying stranded in the middle of nowhere. would never recommend this place to nobody.

BE CAREFUL!! This guy is a complete scam!! Dont be fooled by his kind demeanor. His entire business is based off cars breaking down in the middle of nowhere. If he cant overcharge you on a quick fix, he will kindly assist you in leaving your car with him but then he will do his best to make sure you dont get your car back. He asked and advised me to leave my car until I can get a tow truck. When tow truck finally showed up a week later he wanted over $1000 for absolutely nothing. Be careful!!! Total scam!! Just look at how many cars he has stranded in his lot as proof. Youve been warned.

This guys great he helps you so much if your car is stuck in the middle of nowhere he can help you.

I check reviews of places, including negative ones before I look into any business I havent visited before. At the time, this place was the highest rated--and I completely agree with that. The mechanics both were both friendly and courteous. While I was there, there was another customer who was pretty stranded, and they were doing everything they could to get her to where she needed to go. If you have car trouble in or near baker, this place is a good stop.

I am so thankful this place exists! My car broke down about 18 miles out of town on our way to California. I called and was told that the owner would meet me and my towed car at the shop. We knew it was going to be a while for the car to be fixed, so we were kindly given a lift by the owner to the Dairy Queen to wait, and grab some food, in air conditioned comfort, well as comfortable as plastic booth seats can be. My husband was in California already for work and we were supposed to be meeting him at our hotel. He rented a car and drove out to get us, so we left my car at Baker Auto Repair to be fixed and picked up on our way home. We called as we left San Diego and were told that the car was fixed and ready to go. A few hours later, I had my car back and we were on our way, with no storage fee for us leaving our car there while we were gone. Not all places would let us just leave it like that for almost a week without penalty. Thank you again Baker Auto Repair, you guys are great! We made it home to Salt Lake without trouble.

Thank you Marc, Steve, & Brennen for helping me get back on the road. Fuel switcher valve & Fuel pump went out on my 89 Ford. Baker Auto happily obliged to run to town to get the parts needed and help install the same day. Shortly after leaving, my vehicle overheated and the team came to me with extra water to carry me through to the next town. As far as cost...sometimes it is what it is, but overall very thankful for the help!

I really am thankful for a honest repair shop when your traveling and your having issues with your vehicle. From these reviews i read through i was able to point my friend here to get some overheating issues handled. I knew it was one of three things that could of been wrong thermastat, waterpump, or radiator cap. This mechanic was honest and didnt take advantage and all that it ended up needing was the radiator cap and some seriously worn belts and some extra coolant for a 170 dollars in the desert on a horse with no name it felt good to be on the road again i heard my friend saying...Cheers Baker Auto Repair !!! 5 Star

Marc is an honest man and charges a fair price. My transmission went out in in the Mojave Desert (Halloran Springs) and thankfully got towed here. I second the statement of whomever said we are lucky to have places like this out there (I too was taxied back and forth by the owner, free of charge). What can I say? The staff is very knowledgeable and am extremely satisfied with the service. Tip: For a complete local history of anything or anyone in the fair town of Baker, CA (and have some time on your hands there) just ask Marc :)

Guys took care of me when I came in at 830pm with a flat tire. They sold me a tire for $150 which I thought was reasonable considering we were far from home and next to nothing. Thanks

My daughters car broke down on her way back home from Las Vegas she was past Baker Ca. she has AAA but only the 7 mile tow so the tow truck driver towed her back to Baker Ca. We live about 21/2 hours away so I got in the car to drive to Baker to see what if anything I could do. My daughter suffers from Anxiety so I knew that even if I was just there I could at least calm her down. My AAA wouldnt be able to tow her car home for another week so I planned to take her home and then go back in a week and have her car towed home. My daughter thought that it was the head gasket because of having a previous car that blew a head gasket. I was afraid that if I took it somewhere in Baker that I wouldnt know if they were telling us the truth or not and might try to charge us more because of us being 2 females but I went ahead and called Baker Auto Repair to see if they could look at it and at least see what it might be. Mark (the owner) came to where the car was parked to look at it and see if he could find the problem. Mark(owner) quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to by pass the problem (i wish I could tell what it is but I cant remember so lets just say you dont need it to drive the car.) so that we could get home and have our mechanic do the repair, It turned out to be a minor repair. Mark made sure that everything was okay and that we could make it home with no problems.When Mark handed me the bill to pay and l truly believed that it would be very costly because of our situation., it was NOT, Mark only charged us for the Antifreeze that was lost when the engine over heated and the feet that he charges for looking at the vehicle> The bill was less than $128.00! If you ever find yourself stranded in the desert do yourself a favor and call Baker Auto Repair, Mark is a fair and descent man and knows what he is doing when it comes to repairing vehicles. He also has a good sense of humor and keeps you laughing as well fixes your car. I cant say enough about this man, to find a descent honest man these days is not always easy but I found one in Baker Ca. THANK YOU MARK!

The guy is a total scam artist, broke down on the hwy he quoted me 800 to fix it, got the car back home the repair endup costing me 35 bucks to fix the car. Also had the nerve to threaten to tow my car while I drove to Barstow to rent a U-Haul to get car towed home! Run!

On a long trip from Alaska to Mexico, my taillight went out south of Vegas. I stopped at 3 places that couldnt fix it, before finding Baker Auto. The gentleman there was busy working on another vehicle, but immediately assessed the issue. He didnt have the bulb for my 22-yr-old van at his shop, so he went on a mission to find one in little Baker, CA. He was quite determined to help me get back on the road. Great guy. If you need help and are in the Baker area, he will do his best for you,
